Ameren Illinois Utilities propose natural gas energy efficiency plan

[img:ameren.thumbnail.gif| ]Springfield, IL, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- February 14, 2008 – The Ameren Illinois Utilities have filed an energy efficiency plan with the Illinois Commerce Commission (ICC) designed to help customers save money by reducing their natural gas usage.

"Through this comprehensive natural gas energy efficiency plan, we will help customers save money by using less natural gas without sacrificing personal comfort or safety," said Stan Ogden, vice president for Customer Service and Public Relations for the Ameren Illinois Utilities (AmerenCILCO, AmerenCIPS and AmerenIP).

670 000 meters installed by Ameren Illinois

[img:ameren.thumbnail.gif| ]St. Louis, MO, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- August 12, 2008 - More than 670 000 meters have been installed by Ameren Illinois utilities – Ameren IP, AmerenCIPS and AmerenCILCO – representing more than half the goal of 1.1 million meters, in a program started in 2006.

The meters, which have been provided by Landis+Gyr, are paving the way for the next generation of distribution networking – smart grids which use precise monitoring and communication to enhance the effectiveness of the distribution system.

Real-time pricing option for Ameren Illinois utilities’ customers

]St Louis, MI, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- September 3, 2009 - Ameren companies in Illinois and Missouri have started a mobile power outage information service, “ameren.mobi,” for their 2.4 million electric customers in the two states.

Ameren.mobi offers customers the comfort of being able to report a power outage from a mobile device and provides statistics organized by county and ZIP code to users of BlackBerries, Palm Pilots, iPhones and other mobile devices.

Rate relief for Ameren customers in Illinois

"Our customers have asked for rate relief and we are delivering it," Stan Ogden, vice president of customer service and public relations, said in a statement. "This across-the-board assistance will help trim the bills to more than one million residential customers."

Meeting the complex requirements of the MISO market

Ameren Corporation (Ameren) – the largest electric utility in Missouri and the second largest in Illinois – has numerous market participants in the Midwest ISO (MISO) market. One of the MISO market requirements is that each market participant designates a qualified meter data management agent (MDMA) to provide meter read data to MISO for settlement. The Ameren Services Company provides MDMA services to all of Ameren’s unregulated affiliates, distribution operating companies as well as to 3rd parties. The Transmission Services Business Centre (TSBC) within Ameren is responsible for the MDMA activities.

AMR contract expanded

Cellnet Technology Inc. and Ameren Corp. have signed a letter of intent for the expansion of the Cellnet fixed network AMR system for an addition 1 million electricity and gas meters in Ameren௿½s service territory. The expansion is expected to take place over the next four years, and will add AMR capability to about half Ameren's meters in Illinois.

Ameren serves 2.3 million electricity and over 900,000 gas customers. The additional installations will result in 2.4 million Ameren meters automated on the Cellnet fixed network, making the utility one of the leading US providers of real-time automated metering infrastructure services to its customers.
