U.S. Army microgrid commissioned at Fort Bliss

[img:BlissF_0.jpg| ]El Paso, TX, U.S.A. --- (METERING.COM) --- May 21, 2013 - The U.S. Army and Lockheed Martin have commissioned the first U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) grid-tied microgrid integrating both renewable resources and energy storage at Fort Bliss, Texas.

The project was funded by the DoD's Environmental Security Technology Certification Program.

The Fort Bliss grid-tied microgrid is designed to reduce overall greenhouse gas emissions and energy costs while providing the capability to operate independent of the electric utility grid when needed to provide energy security.

Un factor importante en la prestación de los servicios públicos es la disponibilidad que debe existir en cuanto a facilidades para el pago de los servicios.  Actualmente en CRE Ltda. (Cooperativa Rural de Electrificación Ltda.) nos encontramos planificando un relanzamiento de los centros de cobranza ALPASO, que son empresas que venden productos de consumo masivo y que atienden en horarios extendidos, como ser: Farmacias, Supermercados, Gasolineras y otros.

Algunos años atrás, con la finalidad de poder mejorar el servicio hacia nuestros clientes, se analizo las posibilidades que podrían existir con el aprovechamiento de las tecnologías, redes informáticas e infraestructura existentes  en el medio.

En base a la necesidades detectadas y las tecnologías e infraestructura existente en el mercado, se encontraron las siguiente potencialidades:
