Both devices are pin-to-pin compatible with ADD Semiconductor's designs and are IEC compatible.

A complete set of peripherals has been developed achieving a high level of versatility and providing a compact, low-cost solution for automated meter reading/automated meter management (AMR/AMM) applications using narrowband PLC, according to the company.

Metering for “switched on schools” in Northern Ireland

[img:Ireland%20%28Custom%29.thumbnail.jpg| ]Winchester, U.K. --- (METERING.COM) --- February 12, 2009 - An innovative project involving the installation of photovoltaic (PV) solar panels and renewable energy streetlights, as well as metering and data services, has been implemented in forty educational establishments across rural Northern Ireland.

Energy and advanced smart metering firm, PRI, is providing the metering and data services for this NIE Energy (NIEE) project, named “Switched on Schools”.

Austrian Utility Opts For Advanced Metering

LINZ STROM of Austria has appointed Ubitronix to install Echelon’s energy management infrastructure to control electricity meters, in-home devices and city streetlights. Echelon’s Networked Energy Services (NES) System will network 75,000 of LINZ STROM’s customers using advanced meters. The project includes an option for an additional 75,000 meters.

NES Value-Added Reseller Ubitronix (also of Austria), will serve as the prime contractor. In addition, LINZ STROM will also install a LonWorks® based managed streetlight system in a segment of its territory, as well as provide direct control of in-home appliances such as hot water heaters or furnaces.

Brooks 100 Ampere Round Meter Base

Meter Devices Company’s new 100 Ampere Round Meter Base is designed for use in streetlights, traffic signal control, billboard lighting, construction temporary services, capacitor control and electrical services, as well as for other applications throughout the U.S. and internationally.

This new single-position ring-type unit is equipped with four terminals and carbon steel connectors. The unit is made of die-cast aluminum with a gray cathodic epoxy enamel electrocoat finish.
