Joí£o Torres elected new chairman of EDSO for Smart Grids

[img:JoaoTorresPic.thumbnail.JPG| ]João Torres, CEO of the Portuguese distribution company EDP Distribução, has been elected as the new chairman of the European electricity distributors’ association, EDSO for Smart Grids.

He takes over from Livio Gallo, CEO of Enel Distribuzione, who completed three years as chairman, and has taken on the position as an EDSO vice-chairman.

Claude Godin to direct energy data analytics at DNV KEMA

[img:Claude%20Godin.thumbnail.JPG| ]Claude Godin has joined DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability as director of Energy Data Analytics, with responsibility for the design and development of the company’s energy data analytics product and service offerings in the Americas.
 
Previously Godin held the post of president, North America at EnergyICT. Under his leadership the company deployed meter data management systems at four major U.S. IOUs, and provided AMI infrastructure to the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force, the Department of Labor, as well as real time energy management systems to major retailers.

Bert den Ouden appointed as general director of Flexiblepower Alliance...

The other members of the Board of Directors are Suzanne van Kooten (TNO) and Pallas Agterberg (Alliander), with two more director positions available for new partners.

Sacha Deshmukh to head Britain’s Smart Meter Central Delivery Body

[img:sacha-deshmukh_0.jpg| ]Sacha Deshmukh has been appointed as chief executive of Britain’s Smart Meter Central Delivery Body, the new organization responsible for delivering consumer engagement during the nationwide rollout of smart meters.

Deshmukh is an expert in consumer issues and marketing. He is a Board Trustee of Citizens Advice England & Wales and a non-executive Director of Consumer Futures. Until summer 2012 he was Senior Partner of the Engine Group, the U.K.’s largest independent marketing services group.   

New Board of Directors for Smart Grid Interoperability Panel

[img:SGIP.thumbnail.jpg| ]Five new directors have joined the Board of the Smart Grid Interoperability Panel (SGIP) in the first election following its transition to a member funded organization at the start of 2013.

The new directors are Dave Hardin, senior director of smart grid standards at EnerNOC, Tom Herbst, director at Silver Spring Networks, Suresh Kotha, chief enterprise architect and information technology manager of Sacramento Municipal Utility District (SMUD), Doug McGinnis, senior manager of network services at Exelon, and Steve Widergren, principal engineer at Pacific Northwest National Lab. The effective term for these new members began on July 1, 2013.

Chris Greer and Dave Wollman head NIST smart grid program

Kimberly Getgen appointed VP of Corporate Marketing at Tollgrade

Getgen will report to Tom Kolb, COO of Tollgrade.
