Australia’s only digital utility expo promises leading metering insights

Australian Utility Week’s great speaker line up will be delving into digital metering systems and how they are being adopted by both large water utilities and smaller regional councils.

With these meters, come the IoT platforms, the cloud based analytics platforms, and the automated machine learning processes.

While technology is moving at a fast pace, utilities are often challenged to find enough digitally trained staff to help deliver on their high tech projects. There is still a widely held perception that the utility sector is dull and dominated by senior staff with conservative views.

Actually this situation changing and larger utilities run diversity and inclusion programmes to improve staff recruitment and promotion opportunities, while also benefiting the business with improved innovation programme outcomes. And more women are taking on digital leadership roles.
