Landis+Gyr has commissioned a specially customised Cashpower Suprima prepayment metering software solution in Senegal, in the vanguard of that West African country’s launch of prepayment metering. Senelec, the electricity utility in Senegal, required a prepayment metering software solution that would comply with the rules of their existing, customised data capturing process flow for electricity consumption. The utility also required software in French.
Landis+Gyr was able to meet these requirements by mapping the utility’s existing business processes and adapting Suprima to meet Senelec’s need for various outputs, such as the generation of subscriber contracts with appropriate registration changes.
Senelec has launched prepayment metering with an initial target of 5000 consumers.
