…and we continue to amaze you with high-level industry discussions this week, kicking off with a Morocco Country Spotlight session at 11:00 GMT.
In this session, the Africa Energy Forum welcomes the Ministry of Energy, Mines & Sustainable Development, Masen and the Office National de l’Electricité et de l’Eau Potable (ONEE), who will provide critical insights for investors.
Power Africa will host the Digital Dialogue: Lights On Health: Powering Healthcare in SSA at 14:00, returning at 15:00 to host the masterclass alongside CLDP: Understanding Power Purchase Agreements (Part 1).
We end today with the much anticipated Digital Dialogue: Is this Africa’s Opportunity to leapfrog Energy Transition? at 16:00 GMT. The term ‘energy transition’ dominates conversation globally, and the word ‘leapfrog’ is often used in regards to Africa. What do these terms mean? What do they equate to in an African context? And how can embracing the notion of a 5th industrial revolution enhance this?
To round off the day, at 15h00 GMT attendees are invited to a discussion on Big Block Nuclear Power vs Small Modular Reactors.
This session covers the technology readiness of South Africa for a large-scale and SMR build; the technology cost-effectiveness; the safety aspect for these models; the ownership models; licensing and legislation; and retrofitting NMR in existing coal plants to the decommissioned as per IPR2019.
