Brooks Utility Products Group has developed two new models of its 3100 transformer-rated meter sockets to reduce failures for 277/480 volt services caused by contamination, condensation and spikes and surges. Meters often have to withstand tough environments, and when they fail utilities lose revenue. Eleven product design improvements have been incorporated into the 3128 Meter Guard Socket to eliminate or reduce these problems.
It is available with a one-piece cover, for ringless style meters only, for six, eight and 13 terminals. The 3180 Meter Guard Safety Socket, with Two Sockets Two Meters VT Pack™ provision, eliminates or reduces 277/480 volt meter failures. The addition of the VT Pack allows for a safer testing environment at the meter, because it reduces voltage from 277 to 120. It is available with a one-piece cover, for ringless style meters only, for eight and 13 terminals.
