New mobile computer
DAP Technologies has developed the CE6640 tablet-style mobile computer. Features include data security, expansion capacities and wireless communication systems using local or cellular networks. The CE6640 functions under the Windows CE operating system, version 3.0, and is equipped with the Intel StrongArm SA-1110 processor, based on 32-bit RISC architecture. It can withstand temperatures ranging from -20ºC to +50ºC and can handle a 1.2-metre drop onto concrete, meeting the MIL-STD-810E and IP67 standards.
The computer has an expansion bay, allowing the integration of radio or cellular communications, as well as other such functions as GPS, analogue-to-digital conversion and the Field Bus protocol. It will be available from July 2002.
