SORIA, a Norwegian alliance of 29 distributor service operators, will present a RFP for 780,000 meters during European Utility Week, taking place next week in Amsterdam.
SORIA will give a presentation on 4 November with a goal of purchasing an advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) solution, based on a transparent end-to-end solution using IP and other standard metering protocols.
The alliance is looking for the majority of the meters to be based on RF/PLC last mile communications and a HES for device management.
Event organisers confirm that the presentation is free to attend and gives an opportunity to ask questions and arrange one-to-one meetings to discuss the alliance’s AMI requirments further.
The briefing takes place from 10h00 to 12h00 on Theatre 4 on the exhibition floor.

Norway’s DSOs are responsible for deploying and maintaining meters with the SORIA Alliance estimated at managing 680,000 to 900,000, according to figures from the Norwegian Smart Grid Centre.
