Landis+Gyr has reached a milestone with the shipping of its one millionth FOCUS® meter early in April. The company has worked with a number of strategic alliances and communication providers, including Cellnet, TWACS® by DCSI, Hunt Technologies and Neptune Technology Group to incorporate third-party modular communication modules within the FOCUS meter.
In the past year four new FOCUS endpoints have been introduced, and the company expects the release of several more before the end of the year. The FOCUS meter was designed as an accurate, robust metering device, with an eye to AMR and AMI applications. Its single-circuit board design, with fewer connectors and fewer parts, increases reliability and contributes to better overall endpoint performance.
