Promoting energy efficiency

Honeywell has announced that the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has awarded the company a two-year, $2.25 million contract to provide energy management education and services to participants of the EmPower New YorkSM programme. Developed by NYSERDA, a public-benefit corporation created to fund energy programmes and research, EmPower New York offers services that promote energy efficiency and affordability for low-income utility customers.

Under the contract, Honeywell will manage EmPower New York, which is funded by customers of the state’s investor-owned utilities. Honeywell will team with NYSERDA to educate low-income customers on energy use, install energy efficient appliances in their homes, and weatherise homes through insulation, air sealing and other services.
