Spintelligent Announces Keynote Speakers for Smart Energy Investment Forum


Spintelligent, A Division of Clarion Events, is pleased to announce the keynote speakers for the Smart Energy Investment Forum.  The event takes place on September 8th, 2010 in San Jose, CA.  

The first keynote speaker is Chris King, Chief Regulatory Officer at eMeter.  A nationally recognized authority on energy regulation and competitive energy markets, Chris King is widely recruited by regulators and legislators to consult on technology issues in electric restructuring and grid management. He has testified before Congress and was instrumental in crafting the Energy Policy Act of 2005 that paved the way for advanced metering initiatives in the USA. At the Smart Energy Investment Forum, Chris will provide the entrepreneur’s perspective on what it takes to build a successful start-up and overcome the challenges faced by young companies selling into the utility market.  

The second keynote speaker is John McDonald, Chair of the NIST SGIP (Smart Grid Interoperability Panel) Governing Board, and Director, Technical Strategy and Policy Development for GE Digital Energy.   John is an international smart grid thought leader.  His accomplishments include leading many of the ground-breaking smart grid projects in North America, writing dozens of technical articles and co-authoring three books on smart grid topics.  He serves on the GridWise Alliance Board of Directors, and is a Past President of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES).  John will provide investors and entrepreneurs with a view from within the energy industry on which smart energy technologies are finding traction and creating real value for utilities and their customers today .
