Wireless internet goes global

Wellington-based energy technology company Energy Intellect has released its new wireless Internet communications devices. At present the company automatically collects and manages data from thousands of electricity meters located in Australia and South East Asia, but it is poised to export its technology and services into the North American and European markets. The application of remote data collection using Internet-based wireless communications allows Energy Intellect’s business model to be transposed into geographically distant markets in a cost-effective manner.

The company has demonstrated its online data management solutions in the US., from where meters located in Singapore, New Zealand and Australia were read simultaneously. It is in the process of establishing a series of GPRS and CDMA field trails with a number of interested customers.
