This is, I am sad to say, my last communication to you as Editor of Smart Energy International.
It has been my pleasure to work on this publication on and off during my 20-year tenure with Clarion, taking on the position of editor full time in 2013.
The first edition of 2021, which is also my last print edition, is now live on the Smart Energy International website and I highly recommend you read our US-focused coverage. The scope of the articles ranges from an opinion on US energy policy to how to power a moon base.
Now that this edition is live, I hand over the baton to my colleague Areti Ntaradimou, who many of you will know as a charming, super-smart woman who is well versed in the industry.
Although I will be transitioning out of my role as editor, I’m not going far, as I will continue on as the Head of Content for our Enlit Africa conference.
To all of our readers and partners, I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you for the many years of support, feedback and especially – challenges to my opinion.
I’d like to acknowledge the wonderful Smart Energy International team – Julia, Nick, Pam, Kelvin, Errol, Amelie, Mandy, Sarah and Ross have made this a wonderful team to be part of, although I know that the new editor is going to bring something entirely new to the focus and direction. They say a change is as good as a holiday and I know that the new additions to the team can only add additional insight, scope, width and depth to the coverage you are used to.
While this is the end of a chapter for me, the journey for the growing Smart Energy International team continues and I encourage you to continue to support and be an active part of that experience.
From me, however, thank you for being part of my smart energy journey. It has been an honour and a privilege.
Wishing you all the best,
