In Greece, transmission operator IPTO has selected ZIV Automation for the supply of power line carrier communications systems.
The power line carrier systems will enable IPTO to communicate with substations using both analogue and digital signals.
The OPU model selected to cover the IPTO necessities includes OFDM and QAM Modulation, double power supply and integrated teleprotection function, in addition to the usual voice and data services of these kind of devices.
The scope of the contract includes a five-day intensive training course for a telecommunication engineering team. ZIV consolidates its position with this new agreement in Greece, where it has also built a strong relationship with many local EPC contractors and system integrators who are active on renewable projects.
Greece intends to increase the share of renewable energy in electricity consumption from 29.2% to 61% and the share of energy efficient transport from 6.6% to 19%, according to its final National Energy and Climate Plan (NECP) for the period 2021-2030.
In a previous deal, IPTO selected ZIV Automation for the supply of high voltage communication systems.
