Colombia’s Acuacar includes water analytics in contract expansion

Colombia-based water utility Acuacar has expanded its partnership with i20 Water to optimise management of its water distribution network.

Acuacar, a provider of water services to 1 million customers, is extending the services provided by i2O Water to include its iNet Network Analytics software.

The software service will enable the utility to maximise insights from network data to detect and diagnose network issues earlier.

The extension will help Acuacar to maintain assets in a more timely and cost-effective way based on their condition.

The utility is confident the new software will help them to identify opportunities to improve network performance in a secure and reliable way.

Jorge Luque, director of projects of Acuacar, said: “We have used i2O solutions for a long time and rely on them to help us instrument and optimise pressure in our networks.

“Being able to detect transients and events using the permanently deployed pressure and flow logging devices already installed, without the need for specialist equipment, will help us identify and diagnose network issues more quickly and cost-effectively, reducing leakage and improving the service we provide to the city’s inhabitants and tourists.”

Joel Hagan, CEO at i2O commented: “I’m delighted that Jorge and his team will be able to do more to address their challenges…

“Acuacar is an innovator in Colombia and in the Suez group with its use of state of the art technology.”
