Australian energy distribution network operator, Endeavour Energy, has selected BackOffice Associates to relocate its operational data from multiple applications to a single platform.
Following the signing of an agreement between the two, BackOffice Associates started assessing the utility’s data assets.
The results to come out of the data assessment will be used to provide the grid operator with recommendations on how it can migrate its data from Elipse, Banner and MBS applications to an integrated SAP application.
“Our role as a specialised data provider is to first de-risk data from the critical path and turn that into a strategic asset for the company.” said Krish Datta, CEO at BackOffice Associates, Asia Pacific Japan.
The transfer of data to a single platform is part of the utility’s technology transformation and modernisation of business systems and operations.
Chief Information Officer Andrew Bettenay said BackOffice Associates was selected due to its experience working with SAP solutions and a track record of delivering similar projects on time and on budget, as part of other transformation projects.
“Endeavour Energy’s technology transformation is an important step towards becoming a world-class utility that delivers better outcomes for our customers and staff. This includes an enterprise-wide refresh of our business platform, streamlining and integrating applications, field mobility solutions and customer and employee self- service facilities, as well as enhancing our asset condition data,” added Bettenay.
