Marco Troncone, Managing Director of Aeroporti di Roma, said the partnership will help the “relaunch of the airport sector so hard hit by the pandemic.”

Carlo Tamburi, Director of Enel Italia added: “We will be able to share technological and innovative solutions in a fundamental sector such as airports, creating synergies that can support the strategic relaunch of the sector and the country in a sustainable manner.”

In addition to sharing internal expertise in the field of technology innovation, Enel and Aeroporti di Roma will also seek international partnerships. Smart and sustainable solutions to be developed as part of the collaboration will enable the two companies to achieve the growth of their businesses and of the Italian economy at large.

Areas the partnership will focus on include renewable energy sources, energy efficiency initiatives and flexibility and sustainable mobility services.
