EV drivers can now travel from Sicily to Austria

Italian multinational utility company Enel has brought online some 200 fast-charging stations for electric vehicles across Italy and Austria.

The 50KW EV charging stations provide 400 charging points for EV customers and have been developed as part of the EVA+ or Electric Vehicles Arteries initiative.

Launched in 2016, the EVA+ project has been in partnership with Verbund, SMATRICS, Renault, Nissan, BMW Group and Volkswagen Group Italia.

The project has been co-financed by the European Commission as part of the Connecting Europe Facility Transport programme.

The EV charging stations allow for two vehicles to be charged at the same time in about 30 minutes. Each station is compatible with all models of electric cars currently on the market and complies with international standards in the field of e-mobility: CCS, CHAdeMO and Type 2.

The project allows EV drivers to travel from Sicily to Austria in their electric cars with only short stops and no fear of running out of power.
