US utility Exelon and its subsidiary EZ-EV are sponsoring an electric vehicle test drive programme during the Washington Auto Show (April 5 to April 14).
The project is an effort by Exelon to increase consumer awareness on EV options available, charging technologies and sustainable behaviour and even available government incentives on EVs.
Consumers will have access to information on EV charging such as available home charging stations and how to find and use public EV charging facilities.
The main aim is to accelerate consumer EV adoption.
The indoor and outdoor EV test drive programme is a new addition of the Washington Auto Show.
Michael Kurzeja , CEO at EZ-EV, said: "EVs represent the future of transportation in the United States.
"We are excited to team up with the Washington Auto Show to help more DC, Maryland and Virginia drivers get behind the wheel and experience them."
"As one of the top five auto shows in the United States, we are proud to partner with businesses that recognize the importance of EVs to both the future of transportation and the environment," said O'Donnell. "The Electric Drive Experience is an example of the innovative programmes the show has become known for, here in the nation's Capital, and we are grateful to have Exelon and EZ-EV's support in bringing this opportunity to our guests."
Vehicle manufacturers participating include Hyundai, Nissan, Audi, and Toyota.
