2007 IPMVP released to general public
On 1 November 2007, the EVO released for free public download the 2007 edition of its International Performance Measurement and Verification Protocol (IPMVP) Volume I, Concepts and Options for Determining Energy and Water Savings…

The 2007 edition generally updates, restructures and clarifies the 2002 edition. It adds a definition of the fundamental principles of M&V, several versions of the basic savings equation, and examples. It also clarifies and expands text about the use of uncertainty analysis in M&V.

IPMVP Volume I defines common terminology and good practice in determining and reporting the effectiveness of energy or water efficiency projects implemented in existing or new buildings or industrial facilities. These terms and practices can be custom applied in preparing an M&V plan which specifies how savings will be measured for each project.

Other IPMVP volumes include Volume II on indoor environmental quality (IEQ) issues, and Volume III on Applications of basic M&V principles for new building construction projects and renewable energy projects at end user facilities.

All IPMVP volumes are available for download from the IPMVP library of documents on the EVO website.

IPMVP 2007 – French edition now available
November 2007 also saw the release of the 2007 IPMVP Volume I in French, which is available for free download on the EVO site. The newly translated editions were used in the IPMVP training seminars presented by EVO and the Association Québécoise pour la Maîtrise de l’Energie (AQME) in Montreal and Quebec City, Canada.

EVO wishes to thank the Institut de l’énergie et de l’environnement de la Francophonie (IEPF) and the Agence de l’efficacité énergétique du Québec for their generous contributions which made the French translation of the IPMVP possible.
