ENGIE Romania, customer and community aid during the pandemic


This week, we look at how ENGIE is helping its 1,8 million customers and communities in Romania to address the Coronavirus pandemic.

The utility has donated EUR250,000 to organisations including the National Red Cross Society of Romania, Give Life, Daruieste and HOSPICE Casa Sperantei to support first-line medical staff and patients affected by COVID-19.

The donation will be used to purchase ventilation devices or materials of strict necessity to patients confirmed with COVID-19.

The funding raises donations made by ENGIE Romania within the health system to EUR1,350,000 since 2013 to improve the lives of 10,000 patients per annum.

ENGIE is also providing household appliance repairs and sanitary installations services for elderly people 965 years) who are registered with the Social Assistance Department of Bucharest.

The teams of technicians who will perform the works are employees of the subsidiary ENGIE Servicii or are part of the rounded network Ajusto.ro, online platform of craftsmen of ENGIE Romania, which offers services for home.

The Ajusto.ro team will ensure the interface with the representatives of the Social Assistance Department of Bucharest by dispatching the orders to the technicians, as well as monitoring all the works performed.

The services will include home appliance repairs (refrigerator, oven, hob, stove or washing machine), installation of gas cookers (stove, gas hob (without cutting on the counter) , gas oven), plumbing repairs (replacement of flexible connection, replacement of cracked taps, repair of water leaks, replacement of cracked pipe in the house, replacement of the sink / bathtub drain, unclogging of leaks, repair of the toilet tank defect), appliance repair washing machine, electric kettle, electric oven, electric cooker (without cut-out).

ENGIE is also helping to ease the transportation of food and materials to institutions and people affected by COVID-19 by donating compressed natural gas for vehicles owned by the Romanian Red Cross.

Through a partnership with IVECO Romania, ENGIE will power two EVs owned by the Red Cross daily.
