A new Cogent Reports study conducted by Market Strategies International has named New Jersey Natural Gas (NJNG) as the Most Trusted Utility Brand 2018.
NJNG has been ranked as the seventh among all natural gas utilities in the US, third in the east and top in the state.
In total, the study analysed the performance of 133 of the largest gas and electric utilities.
The award identifies utilities that have earned the trust of their customers and are perceived to be industry leaders in innovation.
The study looks at operational satisfaction, product experience and brand trust. This year’s edition includes an online survey of over 60,000 residential utility customers on 35 rating questions about performance; including safety and reliability of service, customer and field service, reliability of quality, environmental focus, billing and payment processes and communications effectiveness.
Steve Westhoven, chief operating officer of New Jersey Natural Gas, said: “To be recognised as an Elite Most Trusted Utility Brand is an honour for our company and a testament to our more than 1,100 employees.
“This award exemplifies our commitment to meeting customers’ expectations for safety, reliability and value, every day.”
The utility has five subsidiaries including New Jersey Natural Gas, NJR Clean Energy Ventures, NJR Energy Services, NJR Midstream and NJR Home Services.
The utility says its projects including energy conservation and efficiency initiatives such as Conserve to Preserve, The SAVEGREEN Project and The Sunlight Advantage have led to improved customer services and trust.
