Online gamification ‘Home Energy Rewards’ pilot launches for PG&E customers

US utility Pacific Gas and Electric Company has partnered with Franklin Energy to launch the Home Energy Rewards Programme using online gamification.

The pilot programme is open for single-family residents who are not currently signed up to any home energy efficiency programme in San Joaquin and Contra Costa.

Consumers can earn points for reducing their energy use and redeem them for gift cards.

Additional points will earned for completing an online home energy assessment, from which the utility will make use of the results to provide consumers with personalised home energy saving tips.

Franklin Energy will employ its technology arm NGAGE to improve customer communication, experience and participation.
