Guyana gets IDB loan for loss reduction and energy efficiency

The project will be undertaken by Guyana’s main state owned utility, Guyana Power and Light Ltd. (GPL), and follows an earlier loss reduction initiative, also supported by an IDB loan.

EDF launches island smart grid projects

The Nice Grid project, which will take place in mainland France, is aimed to provide the first local life size demonstration of energy storage using Li-ion batteries integrated at three grid levels – the originating substation, distribution substation, and residential (with overall storage capacity of about 2.7 MWh).
