Blockchain technology holds great potential for the future of the global energy sector.
To unlock that potential, four research projects supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy are exploring blockchain-supported solutions for the age of distributed energy: Ranging from real-time energy trading in microgrids, over community-based solutions and virtual energy storage systems, to platforms that enable energy producers and consumers to help stabilise the local grid.
As part of the German technology programme “Smart Services Worlds”, the stand also features an interactive exhibit based on augmented reality. The exhibit takes visitors on a virtual journey thought the Smart Services Worlds and introduces them to another 34 projects.
Furthermore, four Hub sessions and one Summit session will provide an in-depth look at the technology behind the projects and their vision for the next stage of distributed energy:
