SUSI, on behalf of its SUSI Energy Efficiency Fund (SEEF) has partnered with Luneos to increase energy efficiency in Poland.
SEEF and Luneos signed a framework agreement for the financing of Light-as-a-Service (LaaS) projects in Poland with a volume of up to 30 million euros.
The financing facility will be used to finance LaaS projects predominantly in the small and medium enterprise sector.
The expected first portfolio of projects financed through the SEEF facility will achieve aggregated emission savings of up to 45,000 tonnes of CO2.
Under the facility agreement, Luneos will retrofit the lighting systems of their clients with highly energy efficient LED lighting, leading to significant energy savings as well as lower maintenance costs and enhanced lighting quality.
SUSI structures and finances portfolios of LaaS projects predominantly with Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) as preferred financier through SEEF. The fund’s innovative sale of receivables financing solution allows Luneos to rapidly expand and implement its project pipeline and rollout its LaaS business model in Poland.
Christopher Tschamler, responsible transaction manager at SUSI Partners AG, adds: “We are proud to team up with a very experienced and agile team in Poland, which has a proven track record in the energy sector. Through the financing facility structured, we offer a tailor-made financing solution and act as a reliable partner to Luneos and its clients.”
Zbigniew Prokopowicz, CEO of Luneos: “The funds provided from a European leader of energy transition financing makes it possible for us to deploy, for the first time in Poland, long term financing of energy efficiency projects of up to 10 years for the SME sector. We strongly believe in delivering energy and CO2 savings on the basis of “as-a-service” business model and we see great interest in the LaaS model, especially in the context of recent significant raise of electricity prices to SMEs in Poland.”
