Conlog unveiled their new smart electricity meter manufacturing plant within the Dube TradePort Special Economic Zone (DTP SEZ) in Durban, and our sister publication ESI Africa were fortunate enough to be invited to witness the momentous occasion.

The new premises, at around 12 000 m2, is a significant upgrade on their previous base of operations which was located in Overport, Durban.

Notable attendees at the facility launch included Ambassador Sadick Jaffer, the Department of Trade and Industry’s (dti) chief director for investment promotion as well as KZN acting premier and MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs Nomusa Dube-Ncube. The MEC noted that Conlog’s new plant is a key part of the provincial industrial strategy and should have a positive effect on employment.
