Iberdrola named most ethical for sixth consecutive year

Spainish utility Iberdrola has been named among the most ethical companies in the world.

The utility has been included by Ethisphere Institute in the organisation’s 2019 World’s Most Ethical Companies.

This is the sixth consecutive year Iberdrola has appeared in the index. Iberdrola is the only Spainish company to be named.

The index recognises the role played by companies in promoting ethical principles to achieving their goals.

Some 128 companies from 21 countries, operating in 50 different sectors are included in the index.

The index evaluates companies on five categories including compliance and ethics programme, ethics culture, corporate social responsibility, good governance, and reputation and leadership.

María Dolores Herrera, compliance manager at Iberdrola, said the acknowledgement helps the firm to “keep making progress to achieve a solid ethics culture and the excellence of our Compliance System, and to continue to implement its best practices in all the company’s departments and business lines.”

The index was launched in 2007.
