Centrica Business Solutions released its Buyers Guide to Solar to help large energy users better understand and improve their energy efficiency and operational performance.
The 18-page guide provides an end-to-end overview of solar and best measures on how to integrate photovoltaic and storage systems to optimise energy management.
The report describes the economics related to integrated solar and storage systems including various financing options, types of solar installations, and technology and system monitoring to verify productivity and financial benefits.
Stephen Prince, head of Centrica Business Solutions North America, said: “Operational excellence and cost management are a key focus for many businesses and schools and energy is a significant factor in both, yet it is often misunderstood and inadequately managed.
“However, when energy is managed well, it can help address these areas and drive your business forward. Our experience in energy trading – through our sister company, Direct Energy Business—and as an energy aggregator allows us to offer unique propositions for our customers, helping them to manage financial goals, improve energy efficiency and simplify their energy management.”
For instance, Reed Intermediate School in Newtown, Connecticut has reduced its energy costs by 43% and is expected to save up to $1.5 million over a period of 25 years owing to deploying a solar system at its site.
