Patty Durand, President of the Smart Energy Consumer Collaborative, shared some thoughts on why utilities should be paying attention to what consumers want, what their attitudes toward energy are and what really matters to them.

Particularly, she discusses the segmentation framework for consumer’s from those that are interested in taking care of the environment, those that are interested in saving money, the movers and shakers and the newest group – the Millennials.
