In Costa Rica, the Public Services Company of Heredia (ESPH) has selected Landis+Gyr to modernise its grid network.
The utility will deploy the firm’s intelligent network, distribution automation and sensing devices.
Landis+Gyr is providing its Gridstream Connect solution comprising an RF mesh IoT network to connect smart meters and distribution sensors.

ESPH has plans to deploy a customer portal and prepay solution as part of the second phase of the project.
Landis+Gyr is partnering with its regional distributor CFS Sistemas to provide ESPH with data hosting and project management services.
Prasanna Venkatesan, regional President and CEO of Landis+Gyr Americas, said: “This project is an extensive effort to modernise electric service delivery and improve efficiency.
