The utility will use Itron’s cloud-based Field Collection System (FCS) to collect meter data and provide it to meter data management and customer billing applications.
With the solution, Roanoke Gas Company will gain greater visibility into its system and reduce costs, improve reliability and ensure overall system integrity, using detailed meter data. The solution allows the utility to gather meter reads remotely via mobile data collection, which eliminates estimated billing and the need for field workers to enter the customer premise. This improves safety, customer privacy and convenience.
Roanoke Gas will is looking to operate more efficiently and improve service to its customers.
