The pilot includes various technology and consulting firms namely NEC Corporation, Bureau: Japan Cable and Telecommunications Association, Cable TV Co, Ltd., Suda Shoji Co., Ltd., Innovation Farm, Inc. and ZeroSpec Inc.

NEC Corporation is providing a Low-Power Wide Area-compliant network server.

Consumer usage data will be acquired from the smart meters via LORAWAN utilising a cable television (CATV) network.

Acquired data will be visualised on an application to ensure real-time management of grid network.

The pilot runs through to December of this year and aims to assess the quality of LoRa communications and the effectiveness of remote control functions for LP gas meters.
