In the US state of Colorado, Aurora Water is upgrading its water metering infrastructure to improve operational efficiency and customer services.
The utility has partnered with Badger Meter to deploy the firm’s advanced metering solution to improve water delivery to some 87,000 customers.
The four year project will help reduce water loss and theft, promote conservation and enhance revenue protection and collection.
The solution includes Badger Meter’s:
- ORION cellular smart water communication endpoints to provide connectivity to smart water meters and other applications. The ORION Cellular endpoints will utilise an LTE-M network which is fully compatible with current LTE and 5G technology
- BEACOn advanced metering analytics, a software-as-a-service for data collection and analysis to improve operational awareness
- EyeOnWater consumer engagement tool to allow customers to view usage data in real time
The project is part of efforts by Aurora Water to upgrade and modernise its IoT network with next generation infrastructure and technologies.
