ENGIE Storage has been selected by renewable energy firm Syncarpha to develop and operate six energy storage sites to ensure energy security in Massachusetts and New England.

The 19MW/38MWh portfolio will allow the integration of clean and affordable energy into the Solar Massachusetts Renewable Target Programme and in the ISO-New England wholesale energy markets.

The project is ENGIE Storage's first utility scale solar plus storage offering to participate in wholesale energy markets.

ENGIE Storage will provide Syncarpha with its GridSynergy hardware and software solution, as well as operate the plants for 20 years.

ENGIE Storage will pay fees in exchange for the rights to operate the solar and energy storage system in the ISO-New England wholesale capacity, reserves, and frequency regulation markets.

The projects are expected to come online in late 2019 and early 2020.
