The award recognises Itron for its consistently high standards for delivering customer value
With Itron’s AMI network, developing countries in the Asia-Pacific region are able to easily integrate distributed energy resources (DERs) to meet growing power demand.
In particular, the award recognised Itron’s collaboration with one of the largest utilities in Thailand, Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), to deploy Itron’s AMI solution and more than 100,000 smart meters in the City of Pattaya.
Itron’s solution also equips utilities to confront other challenges such as electricity theft, revenue loss, and inaccurate meter reads. Due to these capabilities, Frost & Sullivan reported that Itron’s superior solution will help it penetrate this early-stage market.
“Itron has developed into a global leader in AMI, distribution automation streetlighting and emerging IoT sensing,” said Rajalingam Chinnasamy, industry manager of Industrial Practice at Frost & Sullivan. “This award recognizes Itron’s impressive growth in unit sales, overall growth rate and continued commitment in the Asia-Pacific region.”
“Itron is honored to be recognized in Frost & Sullivan’s Asia-Pacific Best Practices Awards, which highlights our commitment to the region. Through our Industrial IoT solution with Distributed Intelligence, we are delivering new value to customers through more efficient operations, better decisions and quicker responses,” said Paul Nelsen, vice president of sales, APAC at Itron.
