Panasonic, Schneider Electric partner on building energy management

Panasonic and Schneider Electric announced that they will be pioneering energy management system for next generation commercial buildings.

The two companies will integrate IoT communications and smart building solutions.

Panasonic’s AC Smart Connectivity solution will be integrated with Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxture Building Solution and Intelligent Room Controllers.

The AC Smart Connectivity system uses the ZigBee wireless communication standard. The smart connectivity technology will enable direct serial communication between Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure Building Solution, intelligent room controllers and Panasonic’s packaged air conditioning  and variable refrigerant flow-based HVAC heating and cooling systems.

The new integrated system will include sensors which will be used to monitor temperature and humidity. Zigbee wireless sensors will measure windows and door movement and room occupancy to ensure Indoor Air Quality management.

The new integrated system is expected to help reduce operating costs for building operators by optimising energy consumption in buildings.

The new system features an easy to use interface whiih can be customised in line with individual customer needs.

Paul Crothers, General Manager at Schneider Electric, said: “Schneider Electric and Panasonic have simplified energy management with innovative integration that optimises building efficiency and installation costs.”

“The combination of our technologies brings innovation and real value to customers and accelerates their return on investment.”
