Central Lincoln will begin deploying the system in January 2011 and plans to complete the deployment in June of 2012. In addition to advanced metering and home area networking, the utility will be looking into line loss mitigation, improving service reliability and overall load management.

Under the agreement, Landis+Gyr will provide E22 and E34 meters and the SGP+M system equipped with Silver Spring communications modules. The Silver Spring Smart Energy Platform combines network infrastructure, software and professional services to enable a range of smart grid applications. The combined solution will deliver fully integrated, end-to-end, IPv6-based communications.

Landis+Gyr will supply 10,000 smart meters for the CEZ Group's 40,000 metering point pilot project in the Czech Republic. Moreover, the company's Gridstream solution, including head-end software and meter data management system for data processing will be deployed for the whole project.

Landis+Gyr is working with the Czech utility, CEZ, building the largest industrial, commercial and grid metering data centre in Europe, using the latest generation technology designed for 85,000 industrial metering points. By the end of 2008 around 40,000 metering points spread throughout the Czech Republic, Romania, Bulgaria and other distribution networks in these countries will be connected to the centre’s system, also provided by Landis+Gyr.
