[img:handshake.thumbnail.jpg| ]Prague, Czech Republic and Zug, Switzerland --- (METERING.COM) --- October 6, 2010 - Czech utility CEZ Group has selected Landis+Gyr for three distinct projects, including conducting the company’s first residential smart metering pilot project in the country, establishing multi-energy metering in the Czech ICG sector, and entering the Albanian market with its SuperConverge industrial, commercial and grid meter data system.
Landis+Gyr will supply 10,000 smart meters for the CEZ Group's 40,000 metering point pilot project in the Czech Republic. Moreover, the company's Gridstream solution, including head-end software and meter data management system for data processing will be deployed for the whole project.
Demag Holdings SARL, which acquired major meter manufacturer Landis+Gyr from Siemens AG in 2002, has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to sell Landis+Gyr to Bayard Energy. Bayard Energy is the energy management and conservation division of Australian-based Bayard Capital.
The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to be completed by the end of September 2004.
