Delaware increases efficiency incentives by $2.4 million

US state power efficiency agency Delaware Sustainable Energy Utility (DESEU) partnered with energyOrbit to track, manage and report the progress of energy efficiency programmes.

Using a single cloud-based platform to acquire, process and manage data from multiple programes has helped DESEU and the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control to expand consumer participation in portfolios of energy efficiency and clean energy programmes.

For instance, the state’s Home Performance with Energy Star initiative resulted in an increase in incentives by $2.4 million, as well as $10.34 million in energy savings.

Delaware has used the platform to manage efficiency programmes over the past one year and six months.

Programmes managed using the tool include low-interest loans for energy efficiency, customer-sited renewables and energy credit procurement.

Tony DePrima, executive director of DESEU, said: “Our partnership with energyOrbit saved us from the struggles of old and complex Excel spreadsheets and allowed us to tap into the power of the commonly understood and respected platform powered on Salesforce.
