Israel’s Enlight secures €270 million in funding for wind power

Israeli renewable energy developer Enlight has secured funding for two wind projects totalling €270 million, which will add 220MW in generation capacity to Israel’s renewable energy resources.

Genesis Wind, currently being built on the Golan Heights, and a second site in Yatir in southern Israel are mostly developed, and are awaiting regulatory approvals.

Project development costs have been funded by a banking consortium led by Bank Hapoalim, which also led funding of Enlight’s Emek HaBakcha wind farm.
