Karachi Electric to purchase meters


Karachi, Pakistan — (METERING.COM) — November 5, 2008 – The Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) is reported to be embarking on a new digital meter program worth Rs920 million (US$11.4 million) with a view to introducing remote meter reading and checking power theft, particularly in the industrial areas of the city.

It is understood that an initial pilot project will be conducted with 30 meters, which are to be installed at industrial sites. If this proves successful, the program will be expanded to other parts of the city.
