In a press statement, the diversified technology firm said it is installing 3-Phase whole current and LT Type CT operated as well as prepayment smart energy meters. The smart prepayment energy meters will enable pay-as-you-go metering and billing, facilitating the end user with credit management features.
The installed meters have a load connection/ disconnection feature for automatic load management.

“The system is designed keeping in mind the stringent anti-tempering and load limiting feature required by the customer. The feature will help the society to manage consumer load accordingly by limiting the maximum load of the consumer.”
He added, “Our prepayment solution has the ability of switching back to postpaid system by removing the server used for consumer balance management.”
The General Manager at the Housing Society stated: “Our housing society has selected MicroTech Industries to deploy a pilot project with major share of prepayment smart energy meters because it is a leading technology company with a proven track record of successful large scale AMI deployment in Pakistan. The outcome of the pilot installation will be a key factor to start second phase of this project”.
Smart meters deployment in Pakistan
In mid February, power utilities MEPCO and PESCO completed AMI rollouts using equipment supplied by MicroTech Industries.

As part of the turnkey solution, MTI said it supplied three-phase whole current and LT/HT smart energy meters, Smart Eye meter data collector, end user interface (MTI Galaxy) and third-party hardware & software.
MTI also provided installation, implementation, communication and hosting services.
The company reportedly created separate Project Management Units, which helped to meet the “stringent implementation timelines and vast scope of the project”, according to a MTI statement.
Smart meter field installation
As part of the deployment, more than 70 field installation teams provided meter installation services across the Multan-based MEPCO and Peshawar-based PESCO service areas.
MTI said it utilized a specialized tool, Asset Deployment & Management Suit (ADMS), developed in-house, for field implementations.
The real-time project tracking tool facilitated live tracking, feedback and project status updates, which allowed different management tiers to gauge the progress of assets.
It also helped in planning, monitoring and managing field network deployments by using a GIS-based automatic mechanism for progress tracking utilizing dashboard views and progress graphs.
