Mumbai, India — (METERING.COM) — January 5, 2010 – The IT modernization project of the Goa State Electricity Board (GSEB) has been won by IT provider Spanco Ltd, marking the company’s fourth consecutive win in this space.
The Rs85 crore (US$18.9 million) project is under the national Restructured Accelerated Power Development and Reforms Program (R-APDRP), which is aimed to reduce the aggregated technical and commercial (AT&C) losses to 15 percent in the project areas.
The Goa project, which falls under Part A of the R-APDRP to establish baseline data and IT applications, will include the supply, installation and commissioning of an integrated IT solution in the areas of metering, billing, energy accounting and customer care to specifications developed under the guidance of Ministry of Power.
Then Power Finance Corporation Limited (PFCL) has been designated by the government as the nodal agency for the program.

Spanco has earlier won the projects for the states of Punjab, Maharashtra and Bihar.
