The subsidiary will focus on localising and expanding the adoption of Space-Time Insight’s data analytics platforms, Asset Intelligence and Outage Intelligence, to help the region’s utility companies to enhance their operations, planning and performance of their grid assets.
The Asset intelligence is said to helps utilities to reduce the effects of asset under-performance and failure by analysing the operation of the grid assets whilst the Outage Intelligence leverages existing outage management systems to further reduce the duration and frequency of outages.

Deployment of data analytics tech
In other data analytics news, Bit Stew Systems partnered with UK power utility Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD) in late April for the rollout of a smart grid pilot.
Commenting on the partnership, David MacLeman, manager of research and development of distribution technologies at SSEPD said: “The project will improve our understanding of how data analytics can be used to ensure we continue to provide a safe, secure and reliable electricity supply to our customers.”
The project is funded under the utility’s Network Innovation Allowance (NIA) received by UK distribution companies from energy regulator Ofgem to improve their networks by investing in innovations delivering operational and commercial benefits.
In line with SSEPD’s motive, the Canadian based solution provider claims its technology portfolio ‘Mix Core’ will allow the utility to analyse meter and geographical information system (GIS) data for implementation of energy efficiency and demand response programmes.
