Broadband take-up on the rise

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) has announced that nearly 2.2 million customers have adopted broadband services – an increase of over 1 million customers over the past year. And electricity utilities have formed a consortium, known as UtiliTel, to identify ways to add value to their infrastructure.

The aim is to share ideas – and network cables – so that ultimately all participating utilities’ networks will be connected, creating a substantial footprint across the country.
