New Zealand —(METERING.COM)— July 5, 2006 – Electra, the New Zealand based company that has been distributing electricity to the Kapiti and Horowhenua regions for over 70 years, has announced that it will be investing in the meter reading business.
Electra has purchased 50% of DataCol NZ, a DataCol Group subsidiary that provides meter reading services to over half of the New Zealand market.
Grant Thomson, Executive Chairman and Founder of DataCol, said that Electra’s experience in the energy sector and successful track record of investment means that it will be an ideal strategic partner for their contract services subsidiary.
Electra CEO, John Yeoman said that the company had been looking to make another strategic investment as part of its planned growth and was delighted at the partnership with the DataCol Group.
The joint aim will be to increase the presence of DataCol NZ in the New Zealand field services sector, offering more services to energy customers and expanding into new areas.
