Vector Limited, New Zealand’s largest energy infrastructure company, has implemented Talgentra’s Gentrack Network Information system for billing and reconciliation for its 750,000 electricity and gas customers. The implementation took place in three stages over a 12 month period.
The project had significant complexities related to consolidating Vectorí¯¿½s three billing processes, which either bill customers directly for network charges, invoice energy retailers who pass on these charges, or reconcile network charges billed on Vectorí¯¿½s behalf by retailers. In each case Vector set a requirement to process and bill monthly consumption data within an intensive 72-hour period. The Gentrack NIS reconciled retailer and Vector consumption data within cents, and is able to process 75,000 utility reference customers per hour.
